What a day !!

Yesterday! The weather wasn’t friendly and I had slight headache, but still I had so many things in my to-do list. One lift wasn’t working. The working one smelled kerosene. There was heavy traffic on the road….I was supposed to get a document from my son’s school but they said it is not yet ready. Then the gas agency people asked for a supporting document which I do not have. Two disappointments in a row!

Then, all of a sudden, like a pregnant woman, I felt like eating a particular sweet which was available only at a particular store (I have not seen that anywhere else except in their chain stores). I took a wrong route and happened to proceed further at a cross road which forced me to travel about a kilometer to take a U-turn. Then this slow moving traffic with a hell lot of motor vehicles. At the end, I missed the store and decided to get away from the traffic and reach home.

On my way, I decided to buy a somewhat similar tasting sweet from a store near my apartment. I got a good parking, went to the store and they had the sweet I was looking for. I paid the money, collected my bag and went home. I changed my dress , washed my face and opened the box and there lies some pieces of fruit cake !!! Dressed up again, drove to the store and accepted that salesman’s sheepish smile and came back. Before changing dress, I opened the box, and ate one to make sure that the sweet is for real. I thought I just talk to somebody about my day. There was only one person online (others were either busy or invisible or out of touch) I waited for a ‘hi’ from her…one minute… 10 minute….one hour….no, no response…my son was about to return home from his school by 4.15. I was waiting in the balcony. 4.20, 4.30, 4.45….his bus did not come…..Man, enough is enough!

If a day starts like this, we better postpone the things in our to-do list, if possible, to avoid further disappointments. And if we believe in God, we better do a couple of rounds of rosary (at least 108 counts)… It is said that, even Lord Shiva had to suffer the influence of Saturn when he was on earth…Krishna, Buddha, Jesus…they too had their share of bitter days when they were here. It is better we keep our cool, coz some days are like that, we can’t help it.
