Verses in Bhagavad Gita

There are 701 verses in Srimad Bhagavad Gita. They can be classified as who said that.

Dritharashtra - 1

Sanjaya - 40

Arjuna - 86 and

Lord Krishna - 574

(Some say it is only 700. In that case, Arjuna's share becomes 85, one Q less in chapter 13)

Khadakasha

This universe exists in Akasha or space. There are three main types of Akashas - Mahakasha, Khadakasha and Jalakasa.

Mahakasha is the space we see up, with no limits..growing further and farther.

Jalakasha is the reflection of the Mahakasha in a water body (Jala means water).

Khada means mud pot. There is space in the mud pot which is nothing but an extension of Mahakasha. It exists there because and till there is a pot. It was there before the pot was even born. When the pot dies it becomes part of Mahakasha. Khadakasa has a birth time but it is never born. It has a death time but it never dies.

We are like Khadakasha.

The feast

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

We are ...?

"....we are not our body, mind or emotions. We are divine souls on a wondrous journey. We came from God, live in God and are evolving into oneness with God. We are, in truth, the Truth we seek. Aum."

Everywhere...and Forever

As the air is everywhere,
Flowing around a pot
And filling it,
So God is everywhere,
Filling all things
And flowing through them forever
.

Illness and God

Illness is not cured by saying the word medicine, but by taking medicine. Enlightenment is not achieved by repeating the word God but by directly experiencing God.

Friendship..

The bonds that good men share are like good bound books,
revealing new enchantments at each new encounter.

It is not constant meeting and companionship,
but shared sensibilities that confer the alliance of friendship.

A smiling face is no sure sign of friendship.
Friendship is found deep within a smiling heart.

The unborn world

"I am not the body, nor does the body belong to me. I am not a being, I am solely myself. This was my bondage that I eagerly desired to live.

Oh, in the boundless ocean of myself as the winds of mind arise, manifold worlds quickly appear as its waves."

- Astavakra Gita

How to Detach?

Attach yourself to Him who is free from all attachments.
Bind yourself to that bond so that all other bonds may be broken.
