The Abundance...

What is energy? Simply put, it is the ability to do work. That’s the definition I learnt when I was a kid. I don’t remember to what extend I understood that when my science teacher asked us to by-heart it. I think the definition did not change much. At college, it became the capacity of a physical system to perform work. Not much for a change. It always flirted around work.

Those definitions are not capable of giving a clear idea about what energy is, for a small kid. And that’s why the definitions immediately followed by the forms of energy. Then it became clearer. It gave a feeling like ‘oh we weren’t just mugging up something…it really exists’.

What is beyond the definition and an example like ‘we get energy from the food we eat’ or ‘when a bulb glows, electric energy is converted into light energy’?

The first law of thermodynamics is a pure revelation which made me think of Einstein as a modern day Rishi (In the olden days, our Rishis had knowledge about virtually anything and everything). So, energy can not be created nor be destroyed.

We are just using something which was already there and which will be always there, whether we know it or not, whether we accept it or not…. When the universe was created, it was there. It still is there and it will be there. We can not see it, but we can feel it. Its there in many forms, though it’s formless in nature. So, it fills the entire universe and every stuff that exists in this universe contains it….That’s interesting.

Well, is there anything else(?) which was already and always there that can not be created or destroyed which has no form but just changes form, which fills the entire universe and its contents, that which makes this universe ‘nothing’ when subtracted from the universe, that which is the reason for this universe?

Where do they differ?
